Description
Howl at Halloween tells the story of a little girl called Aine, who travels with her family from Dublin to celebrate the annual Halloween Howl festival with her granny in Kenmare, Co Kerry.
During the holiday they enjoy playing Halloween games, tasting traditional Halloween food, having fun, and exploring the autumnal beauty of the area. The story culminates with everybody dressing up and participating in the local community's Halloween Howl parade.
‘Discussion prompts’, to encourage adult–child engagement with the core themes of the book, are included. The story supports the aims of the Primary School Curriculum for this age group, with particular emphasis on appreciating Irish culture and traditions, as well as fostering personal growth.
An Irish language version of Howl at Halloween is also available.
